At Better Surfaces & Services we install new floors of wood, natural stone and tile, as well as lay carpet. We do restorations, re-finishing and touch-ups on most surfaces. All Surfaces:
Professional Deep Cleaning restores wooden floors, tile and natural stone. We use professional-grade products to remove build-up from improperly used cleansers and dirt damage caused by high traffic and poor maintenance. Once we bring your surfaces back to a normal condition, one of our technicians will explain how to maintain it to avoid future problems. (Not every surface will qualify for this type of service.) Our sales representative can advise you on which services are the best for you.
Clean and Wax cleans the floor by using commercial cleansers to remove dirt and product buildup. After a good cleaning we apply wax, and with a commercial buffer and a special pad the technician will buff the floor to the degree of shine chosen by the client. This service is less common these days due to improvements in floor finishes. A waxed floor can last a long time, but it can take high maintenance since wax never fully dries and therefore accumulates dirt.

Touch-ups:
Accidents happen. When something damages a surface in your home, it may not be necessary to spend a fortune to have the surface replaced. At Better Surfaces & Services we want to make you happy by providing the right solution for your needs. Our experts can touch up almost any damage and can save you hundred of dollars on replacement. Our sales representative can advise you on any touch-up you need.

Installations:
We provide a variety of surfaces from different companies that can meet all of your needs, from custom staircases and hardwood floors, pre-finished solid and engineered wooden floors, laminates, tile and carpet.

Wood Only:
Buff and Recoat can only be done on wooden floors. We use a commercial buffer with a special pad to abrade the surfaces and allow the new coating to adhere to the existing surface. Then we use your choice of finishes to give shine and protection. One coating of satin, semi-gloss or high-gloss finish can often be enough. This service will assure that the finish is consistent, whether glossy or matte, and that your floor is protected. A Buff and Recoat treatment, done in time, can keep you from having to re-finish or replace your wooden floor.
Re-finish is a process for changing a wooden floor’s color or for repairing the grayish areas in seriously damaged wooden floors, especially in entrances, hallways and kitchen. This process involves sanding the surfaces down to the bare wood using a commercial drum, edger and a buffer to remove imperfections and some stains. After these processes are done we apply the stain or sealer and a finish that will protect the floor. Our state-of-the-art equipment captures 95% of the dust from sanding, which means that you will have minimal cleanup when your floors are finished.

Natural Stone:
Sealing is available for tile and natural stone. This consists of applying one or two coats of our best sealer to protect and enhance surfaces to avoid future staining and damage. The sealer will not change the natural look of the surfaces in most cases; our technicians will let you know what to expect.
Lippage removal is necessary on natural stone that was not properly leveled when installed. The lippage removal consists of grinding down uneven edges (lips) from the natural stone with special commercial diamonds. This process can only be done on natural stone, never on tile.
Restoration is available for natural stone only. This service uses special diamond-dust grit to sand and remove imperfections from the stone. Our technicians may use other products such as powders, sealers, waxes and cleaners to achieve the final look of the floor. This process is usually done in different steps until the technician reaches the shine desired by the client.

Tile:
Sealing is available for tile and natural stone. This consists of applying one or two coats of our best sealer to protect and enhance surfaces to avoid future staining and damage. The sealer will not change the natural look of the surfaces in most cases; our technicians will let you know what to expect.
